It is cold, but not painful! The temperatures are very tolerable, and a trained Icebox Wellness Coordinator will talk you though the entire cryo session.
Don’t worry, we got you covered! Icebox will provide all your protective wear for your treatment, including a comfy robe, socks, slippers, & gloves. We ask that ladies leave on their undergarments and men wear cotton boxers. We also have boxers & camisoles available for guests if they need them.
The cryo session is only 3 minutes long, but it’ll be the best 3 minutes of your day! The first appointment with Icebox can take about 30 minutes because we like to fully educate our guests and help with any questions they may have. After the first appointment, typically an Icebox guests can get in and out in 12-15 minutes.
Because the effects of cryotherapy are different for every guest, it will depend entirely on how your body reacts to the session. Guests typically experience a rush of endorphins, making you feel good & more energetic! Also, many guests experience less pain after cryo, which is caused by the flush of inflammation in the body. Cryo can improve sleep, and some guests feel the first impact the next morning after a sleep cycle.
Cryotherapy is a safe & effective treatment. The Icebox Wellness Coordinator running your session is fully trained on safety & operational protocols and are capable of stopping the session if you should want to get out before your session is done. Likewise, there is no lock on the door of the CryoSauna so you can step out at any time. Cryotherapy does have a few contraindications, including pregnancy and certain heart conditions.
Cryotherapy isn’t just for adults - many teens love to reap the benefits too! Parent permission is required for children 12 & older; a doctor’s note is required for children under 12.
This is dependent on what you are using cryotherapy for, but consistency is key to experiencing optimal benefits from cryo! We recommend compounding treatments in the beginning: a minimum of 2-3 times in a 7-10 day period for the best results.
Yes – you can do either! Some people enjoy the endorphin rush before hitting the gym, while others prefer cryotherapy after a workout.
No, we do not accept insurance. You can always ask your insurance provider if they can reimburse you, but we do not accept insurance for payment. Many of our guests use their health savings account cards just like a credit card.
