Husband and Wife Team Open State-of-the Art Icebox Cryotherapy Studio in East Cobb
MARIETTA, GA, August 12, 2021 – Icebox franchisees Jon and Julie Bernard, a local Cobb County couple, have opened the doors of their Icebox Cryotherapy Studio in Marietta. The 1,400 square foot, state-of-the-art wellness center, located at Parkaire Landing, 4880 Lower Roswell Road, Suite 630, in Marietta, opened to the public on July 25 and has already welcomed curious customers seeking specialized healing and beauty services.
Whole-body cryotherapy is a modern take on traditional ice baths that cool and heal a person’s body. Cold therapy has long been used to treat pain, reduce inflammation, and stimulate recovery from injuries and other ailments. The process was originally designed as a treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Inflammatory Joint Diseases. Once the process proved effective, it was found to be beneficial in other health & wellness applications. The process involves exposing the body for three minutes to ultra-low temperatures, ranging from -200F to -256F.
After a lifetime of working out, physical activity, and amatuer sports, Bernard started to experience chronic pain and eventually needed two back surgeries. As part of his recovery, Bernard was introduced to cryotherapy treatments. With his wife Julie, opening a cryotherapy studio was a natural evolution in their relationship. They want to help others remain active and believe in a more holistic approach to wellness, including cryotherapy.
“Owning an IceBox Cryotherapy Studio combines many of our interests and life goals,” said Jon Bernard. “Julie is an avid runner and we enjoy playing tennis together. But as we got older, those normal aches and pains became more severe. We were looking for a safe, non-traditional method to alleviate pain and inflammation.
